What people use it for
- Music channels on YouTube
A still image with pulsing bars is the classic format of phonk, trap, lo-fi and electronic channels.
- Beats and instrumentals
Producers and beatmakers show off a beat with the cover art and a spectrum on YouTube and Instagram in minutes, with no editing.
- On top of your own video
With the green background, the spectrum goes into CapCut, Premiere or After Effects and sits over your footage, without building the effect there.
- Reels, TikTok and Shorts
A vertical clip of the song with a moving spectrum holds attention better than a still image.
- Promoting a release
Independent artists post the single with the cover art and a spectrum before there is a music video.
- Video podcasts
The circle with a logo pulsing to the voice turns an audio episode into a video.
Which shape to pick
- Wide (16:9)
YouTube and computer screens.
- Tall (9:16)
Reels, TikTok, Shorts and stories.
- Square (1:1)
Instagram and Facebook feeds.
Which style fits
- Bars, LED and bottom bars
lots of movement, great for electronic, phonk, trap and hip-hop.
- Line, wave and oscilloscope
more subtle, a good match for lo-fi, vocals and podcasts.
- Circle, radial, vinyl and player
for brands, cover art and channels, with the image in the middle.
Tips for a good look
- 01Dark backgrounds make the bars pop.
With a bright image the page darkens it a little, but a dark one works best.
- 02Use the color of your cover or logo.
The video looks like part of your identity, not a stock effect.
- 03Check it on the chorus.
Press play on the loudest part of the song before making the video.
- 04Set how much it pulses.
High for bass-heavy music; low for vocals and calm songs.
Common questions
Is this a spectrum video maker?
Yes. It makes a video with the audio spectrum moving to your song, ready to post on YouTube, TikTok or Instagram.
What is this effect called?
Audio visualizer, audio spectrum, music visualizer, sound spectrum, sound wave, equalizer animation, waveform video: they are all names for the same thing, the bars or lines that move in time with the music.
Which styles are there?
Seventeen: bars, bottom bars, mirrored, line, filled wave, bottom wave, oscilloscope, LED, circle, radial, liquid, vinyl, music player, square cover, mountains, galaxy and color waves. They all move in the thumbnails with your own song. The last seven are premium, and you can try them in the preview as much as you like.
Can I make the music player template, Spotify style?
Yes. The Music player style builds the player with cover art, song title, artist, a small spectrum, a moving progress bar and the buttons, all in sync with the track. With the green background it becomes a template to drop over any video in CapCut.
Can I add the song title and artist?
Yes. Under "Text on screen", type the song title and the artist and pick one of 12 fonts: bold music-channel letters, phonk-style gothic, futuristic, handwritten, retro pixel and more.
Can I make just a clip for Reels or TikTok?
Yes. Play the song up to the part you want, pick 15, 30 or 60 seconds under "Video length" and make the video. It starts right there, with the sound fading in and out smoothly.
Can I make the phonk and aura style, with the screen shaking?
Yes. Turn on the beat effects (shake, zoom, RGB split, glitch, zoom trail) and set how strong they are with "Effect strength". Blurred or tinted background, smoke and the huge title behind finish the look of phonk, aura and slowed + reverb channels.
Can I put a character in front of the background?
Yes. Under "Character", upload a cut-out PNG or an image with a plain background (white, black or a single color) and the page removes the background for you. The character sits in front of the spectrum and gets the beat effects, and its own panel adds an aura in any color that pulses with the bass, floating, shake, RGB split and a floor reflection. For the background to show in full, set "Darken background" to zero and "Background motion" to Still.
Does it work for beats and instrumentals?
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. Producers and beatmakers upload the beat, pick a style and get a video ready for YouTube without hours of editing.
Can I get it on a green screen (chroma key)?
Yes. Under "Background", pick Green, make the video and bring it into your editor. In CapCut use Chroma key, in Premiere the Ultra Key effect, in After Effects Keylight. The green disappears and only the spectrum stays over your video. There is also a black background, which works with the Screen blend mode.
Is it free?
Yes, up to 720p with a small site mark in the corner, with 10 of the 17 styles and videos up to 5 minutes. Premium removes the mark and unlocks 1080p, 4K, the premium styles and videos up to 60 minutes.
Is my song uploaded?
No. The video is drawn and recorded by your own device.
Does it work on a phone?
The preview works everywhere. Recording the video needs a recent browser: Chrome on a computer or Android, or Safari on iOS 26 or later.
Can I post it on YouTube or TikTok?
Yes. The file is a normal MP4. You are responsible for having the rights to the music.
