What people use it for
- Drumming along
Drummers remove the drums and play over the original band.
- Learning bass lines
The bass alone reveals every note that hides in the mix.
- Remixes and extended versions
Producers and DJs use the beat, the bass or the vocal on their own to build a new version.
- Rehearsing with someone missing
Remove just that player's instrument and rehearse with the recording.
- Showing a song part by part
Teachers play each track alone so the class understands how the arrangement was built.
Tips for a better result
- 01Listen to each track alone, then together.
That is how you notice what went where.
- 02"Everything else" is broad.
Guitars, keys, strings, horns and effects come out together in the fourth track.
- 03Heavy low end can blend.
Kick drum and bass share the same low notes; in bass-heavy songs, part of one can show up in the other.
- 04A good file makes a difference.
The less compressed the original, the cleaner the split.
Common questions
Which instruments come out?
Four tracks: vocals, drums, bass, and a fourth one with everything else, like guitars and keyboards.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Phones use a lighter model so it fits in memory. Computers use a bigger one that separates more cleanly.
Can I get just the guitar?
Not yet. Guitar, piano and the other instruments come together in the fourth track.
Options
How your device does the work. On automatic the page picks the best way it can handle. Light mode finishes fast but separates a little less cleanly.
